Marilyn Swanson

Marilyn is a professional flutist from the South Everett area. She delights in watching her private students excel in her home studio and also enjoys playing in the community with Celestrio (a flute/harp/cello trio), the Pacific Rim Flutes (a flute quartet), and other small ensembles. Marilyn is principal flutist in the orchestra at Alderwood Community Church where she is a member and finds joy in honoring God with the music He has given her.

Ann Lindquist

Ann is a versatile flute player living in Mukilteo, Washington.  Ann celebrates a repertoire that spans many genres of music including jazz, classical, folk, Latin, Middle-eastern, and especially improvisation. Her performances on concert, alto, bass and contrabass flutes have taken her to a multitude of festivals including performances at the Washington State Governor's Mansion, the Capital Building, and Washington State Performing Arts Center in Olympia, Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and beyond. She has even played atop pyramids in Mexico and Ayers Rock in Australia. Ann co-founded and directed the Olympia Flute Choir for seven years and now finds delight in playing with the Circle of Flutes.  For the past several years, Ann has been composing original music, some of which is available on Alry Publications and Score Vivo.  She arranges other music for flute choirs and has recorded on many different projects including her own CDs. Barb Hazari

Barb has been playing with the Circle of Flutes for over twenty years. She treasures the friends she has made there, and loves sharing their common love of music. Barb resides in Mukilteo with her husband.. She is a retired design engineer from the Boeing Company, and she loves traveling, skiing, golfing, camping, and spending time with her husband and three children. Barb performs on both the concert flute and bass flute.


Jeannette Shull

Jeannette has been a member of Circle of Flutes for over 15 years and finds joy in making music with the close friends that she has found there. She resides in Mill Creek and is employed as an administrative assistant at Alderwood Community Church. Jeannette performs on the concert flute, bass flute, and piccolo.

 


Alexis Merritt

Alexis is a professional flutist in the Bothell area. She played piccolo with the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra and freelanced in Orlando, Florida before moving to Washington with her husband. She has since toured with the Mantovani Orchestra Christmas Holiday Show as their principal flutist. She currently freelances in the Seattle area, in addition to being a family portrait photographer. Molly Bernard

Molly joined Circle of Flutes in 2006. She is also a member of the Lamoro Trio. Molly studied with Adrianne Greenbaum and Susan Telford. She resides in Bothell and manages the Seattle Genetics Library.


Denise Schwedhelm

A transplant to the West Coast from central Indiana, Denise is a flutist residing in the Edmonds area and has played with the Circle of Flutes since 2005. She was previously a member of the Capilano Flute Choir (North Vancouver, BC) for 11 years and studied with Brenda Fedoruk during that time.  Denise also contributes musically and artistically at her church, Trinity Lutheran, in Lynnwood, Washington.

Barbara Oakley

Barbara Oakley grew up in the San Francisco bay area. She holds degrees in Music Education with a flute emphasis and Church Music from Seattle Pacific University and has studied flute with Francis Bowen at the University of New Mexico , Gary Gray of the San Francisco Symphony , Hal Ott at Central Washington University and piccolo with Zart Dombourian-Eby of the Seattle Symphony. She has performed with the Contra Costa Youth Symphony, the Albuquerque Symphony, the Everett Symphony, the Port Gardner Bay Chamber Orchestra, the Pacifica Chamber Orchestra, the Cascade Symphony, and the Puget Sound Chamber Trio . Barbara teaches elementary band, orchestra and general music in the Edmonds School District. She teaches flute privately, is a flute coach for the Cascade Youth Symphony and is a sought after flute adjudicator. Barb is also the author of the book "A Band Teacher's Guide to Fixing Every Imaginable Flute Problem From the Start".
